Electricity is the set of
physical phenomena associated with the presence and flow of
electric charge. Electricity gives a wide variety of well-known effects, such as
lightning,
static electricity,
electromagnetic induction and
electric current. In addition, electricity permits the creation and reception of
electromagnetic radiation such as
radio waves. ..... Electrical phenomena have been studied since antiquity, though progress
in theoretical understanding remained slow until the seventeenth and
eighteenth centuries. Even then, practical applications for electricity
were few, and it would not be until the late nineteenth century that
engineers
were able to put it to industrial and residential use. The rapid
expansion in electrical technology at this time transformed industry and
society. Electricity's extraordinary versatility means it can be put to
an almost limitless set of applications which include
transport,
heating,
lighting,
communications, and
computation. Electrical power is now the backbone of modern industrial society.
(Wikipedia - 19 Dec 2016)In
the devolutionary
Current Paradigm, what
electricity does, how it can be generated, and how it can be
used, is well understood - but what electricity actually is
remains
unknown. In
the evolutionary
Malta Template
electricity arises naturally so it is clear what it actually is. That said, the
Template's description is less detailed than it needs to be due to the
lack of detail available in the Current Paradigm factbase. Amplifying
the description today would require speculation - and speculation is inappropriate in a
Darwin Template. Hereafter follows a brief description of the fundamentals of electricity as it currently arises in the Template.

Generating electricity requires:
The
adjacency of the nuclides is important for an electric "current"
to be sustainable.
Understable
nuclides within a gravitonstream
absorb gravitons at the northpole and eject them at the southpole. If
the nuclides are aligned, and close enough, a chain is formed in
which ejected gravitons are absorbed by the next nuclide which in
turn ejects its excess into the next nuclide, and so on - a
process reinforced by the electrons circling the
chemosphere of the nuclides. Thus, a sustained electric current is a
mechanically concentrated
gravitonstream moving through a string
of adjacent nuclides.
The
axiality measure of the nuclides is
also important. Each type of nuclide has a different degree of
axiality, from the highly axial
silver and copper
down to the much less so mercury and germanium. The axiality of a
nuclide is determined by its
structure. All nuclides consist of a
mix of the two types of nucleons: the
centrifugal neutron and the
axial
proton. The
more massive the nuclide, the more nucleons it contains.
It is the disposition of the nucleons that determines the axiality of a nuclide. The greater the axiality of a nuclide, the
more easily a chain of such nuclides can sustain an electric current.
Electrons are produced during a nuclide's
autostabilisation.
Each type of stable nuclide has a specific number of electrons that are part of
its structure and which regulate the chemosphere and help concentrate
the gravitonstream that is ejected at the southpole. Any electrons
produced beyond the specific number are ejected at the southpole with
the gravitonstream. The ejected electrons have value in that the absorption
of an electron by the next nuclide in the electricity
chain provides a
highly concentrated feed of mass and energy.
To
sum up: an electric current
will form when sufficient
numbers of suitable nuclides form an adjacency chain inside
a gravitonstream that has a sufficiently high dynamic mass.
If the nuclides
are
gasbonded, any adjacency is brief. Consequently, any chains
that form are randomly constructed and produce results that are
inconsistent - witness the erratic
and shortlived pathways taken by bolts of lightning. If
the nuclides
are
solidbonded, however, the results can be very consistent and,
once the techniques are mastered, very controllable - feed a
gravitystream of sufficient dynamic mass into one end of a
copper wire and "electricity" cannot help but flow along
it.
The
Current Paradigm and the Malta Template fully agree on the facts. There
is some disagreement on the structure built around the facts but this is really a matter of two models
approaching the same subject from opposite directions. The
devolutionary Paradigm looks down upon electrons and photons
and has thus far been unable to see any deeper. The evolutionary
Template looks upward from the hypothetical graviton and sees a
subphotonic
Universe that is an intricate web
of gravitonstreams within gravitonstreams. The end result is the
same for both - lightning bolts flash, dynamos hum, and powerlines
sizzle.
