SELFPROOF 0121 - STRING THEORY

CURRENT PARADIGM
  • STRING THEORY is a theoretical framework in which the point-like particles of particle physics are replaced by one-dimensional objects called strings. It describes how these strings propagate through space and interact with each other. On distance scales larger than the string scale, a string looks just like an ordinary particle, with its mass, charge, and other properties determined by the vibrational state of the string. In string theory, one of the many vibrational states of the string corresponds to the graviton, a quantum mechanical particle that carries gravitational force. Thus string theory is a theory of quantum gravity.     .....     One of the challenges of string theory is that the full theory does not have a satisfactory definition in all circumstances. Another issue is that the theory is thought to describe an enormous landscape of possible universes, and this has complicated efforts to develop theories of particle physics based on string theory. These issues have led some in the community to criticize these approaches to physics and question the value of continued research on string theory unification.   (Wikipedia - 23 Sep 2013)
MALTA TEMPLATE
  • 0101-01:   That each type of elementary fermion consists of a minimum of two gravitons.
  • 0102-04:   That every graviton occupies the whole of its place in space and time and therefore has the height, width, depth, and duration of that place in space and time.
  • 0102-06:   That every graviton is a sphere.
  • 0103-03:   That the effects of gravity are apparent in gravitonpairs but not in isolated gravitons.
  • 0103-04:   That every gravitonpair has energy which is the movement of its gravitons due to their mutual gravitypull.
  • 0105-01:   That the Universe consists of space and gravitons.
COMMENTARY

String theory and Chapter One of the Malta Template are both attempts to describe the structure of the Universe at a level below the elementary fermions. Each is hypothetical. Each is irreconcilable with the other. The main differences are:
  • String Theory is devolutionary.
    • String Theory devolves from the known into the unknown - that is: from the fermion universe into the subfermion universe.
    • It launches itself with assumptions - some of which are beyond any currently conceivable form of proofing.
    • Some of the assumptions have become quasifacts - eg: that one dimensional objects exist.
  • The Malta Template is evolutionary.
    • The Malta Template evolves from what can be reasonably surmised into the well known and understood - that is: from the subfermion universe into the fermion universe.
    • It launches itself with assumptions but these selfprove by evolving into conclusions that are already empirically confirmed.
    • The Darwin Templature methodology forbids the use of quasifacts.
  • String Theory is mathematics based.
    • The equations of String Theory describe a subfermion Universe beyond any human experience - eg: one containing one-dimensional objects, magnetic monopoles, etc.
    • Attempts are made to explain the equations narratively - whether the attempts succeed in "being understandable by any reasonably intelligent layperson willing to make a reasonable effort" is debatable.
  • The Malta Template is logic based.
    • The arguments of the Malta Template describe a subfermion Universe that is much the same as the fermion Universe - eg: gravitons are particles which obey the same laws of physics that apply to larger particles.
    • All the arguments are narrative in character with mathematical support where necessary - it is required of any Bedrock Template that arguments are "understable by any reasonably intelligent layperson willing to make a reasonable effort".
  • String Theory incorporates gravity and (perhaps) explains it.
    • String Theory is selfcontained and thus may be the basis for a theory of everything.
  • The Malta Template incorporates gravity but does not explain it.
    • The Malta Template acknowledges the empirically proved existence of gravity but can make no attempt to explain it because the Bedrock Templature methodology forbids the surmising of objects less substantial that the graviton without supporting facts.
    • Currently there are no facts suggesting that gravitons are, or are not, the least substantial objects in the Universe. Should the existence of subgraviton objects be established one day, an explanation for gravity may, or may not, be found with them.
