SELFPROOF 0122 - GRAVITONS The graviton is not a real particle. It is a hypothetical particle used as a kickstarter for the Malta
Template. It is the least substantial object that can be surmised while
abiding by the rules of the Darwin Templature methodology.
Numbers
of these hypothetical gravitons evolve successfully into the Universe of
today. This suggests that something like the graviton does exist although,
in practice, it is likely to a more complex object than is described
here. It is also possible that the graviton is not the least substantial
object in the Universe.
ON GRAVITON STRUCTURE
- For a graviton to have properties, there must be some means whereby the properties are "held".
- If the graviton is without structure, the properties must be held externally.
- If one or more of the properties is held internally, the graviton must have structure.
- If the graviton has structure it is probably made out of something else.
- If
the graviton has structure it is probably made out of numbers of even less substantial objects.
- If the graviton has structure it is not fundamental.
ON GRAVITON MASS
- 0102-01: That every graviton has these properties: mass, spin, and rejectivity.
- At the level of gravitons, and in the absence of any other information, mass equates to a measure of a graviton's gravitypull.
- A graviton's gravitypull can only be measured by relating it to the gravitypull of another object.
- Is a graviton's gravitypull held internally or externally?
- If a graviton's gravitypull is held internally, what is the mechanism/process by which it is held?
- If a graviton's gravitypull is held externally, does the graviton actually have any mass at all?
ON GRAVITON SPIN
- 0102-01: That every graviton has these properties: mass, spin, and rejectivity.
- For
something to be able to spin, logic suggests it must be
"substantial" because it is difficult to conceive of any mechanism that
would enable something "insubstantial" to spin.
- If the graviton is substantial, it may have a structure.
- If the graviton has a structure, it is not fundamental.
ON GRAVITON REJECTIVITY
- 0102-01: That every graviton has these properties: mass, spin, and rejectivity.
- 0102-04:
That every graviton occupies the whole of its place in space and
time and therefore has the height, width, depth, and duration of that
place in space and time.
- The Malta Template offers no explanation for rejectivity.
- The graviton has rejectivity in that it occupies the whole of its place in
space and time and prevents any other object from doing so.
- If the graviton has dimensions and rejectivity, it may have a structure.
- If the graviton has a structure, it is not fundamental.
ON GRAVITON GRAVITY
- 0103-01:
That every graviton attracts every other graviton in the Universe at a
rate proportional to the product of their masses and inversely
proportional to the square of the distance between them.
- 0105-02: That space has no properties independent of the gravitons within it.
- 0106-01:
That every graviton is subject to the passage of time but the
passage of that time can only be measured by reference to events.
- The Malta Template offers no explanation for gravity.
- The General Theory of Relativity asserts that the phenomenon of gravitation is a consequence of the curvature of spacetime.
- In the Malta Template, space and time are nothingnesses and cannot curve: consequently gravity remains unexplained.
