SELFPROOF 0112 - MASS-ENERGY EQUIVALENCE

CURRENT PARADIGM
  • The MASS-ENERGY EQUIVALENCE is the concept that states that anything having mass has an equivalent amount of energy and vice-versa; these fundamental quantities are directly related to one another by the formula E=mc2 which says that the equivalent energy (E) can be calculated as the mass (m) multiplied by the speed of light (c = about 3×108 m/s) squared. (Similarly, anything having energy exhibits a corresponding mass m given by its energy E divided by the the speed of light squared c².) Because the speed of light is a very large number in everyday units, the formula implies that even an everyday object at rest with a modest amount of mass has a very large amount of energy intrinsically. Chemical, nuclear, and other energy transformations may cause a system to lose some of its energy content (and thus some corresponding mass), releasing it as heat or light for example.  (Wikipedia - 29 Mar 2012)
MALTA TEMPLATE
COMMENTARY

The Current Paradigm and the Malta Template agree there is a mass-energy equivalence in photons and objects more massive than photons. However, the Current Paradigm doesn't presently acknowledge the existence of objects less substantial than photons so agreement stops there.

With objects less substantial than photons the equivalence breaks down. The mass of every graviton is the same and so, by extension, the (absolute) mass of every gravitonpair is also the same. Energy is a property of the gravitonpair and the energy measure of a gravitonpair can vary from one to another. The variable energy possessed by a gravitonpair results from its history and its current surroundings.

This doesn't affect the equivalence in photons and above. The mass-energy equivalence of a photon of a specific wavelength is as it is because the history, the surroundings, and the properties of the gravitonpairs of which it is made dictate that it will be so.
